You Have Eight Seconds, Go! Building Social Selling Habits in a Hyper-Distracted World...
Our February 21st meeting was our first virtual meeting with Debra Jasper from Mindset Digital. Debra focused on sales approaches that help you to get more out of your meetings and to create more meaningful communication. Her approach was geared towards making the most of 8 seconds – which she says is the attention span we have today in this digital world. In those 8 seconds, people will make a decision if engaging is worth their time.
Debra provided tips on effective email communication as well. People receive 147 emails on average per day. It would take about 2.5 hours to get through all of these and that could be why you’re not getting replies. Debra’s first tip: Commit today – do not send an email unless you can answer: What? Why it matters? Her second tip was S.O.S – Emails should be short, organized and skimmable.
Digital Mindset also helps professionals spice up their Linkedin profiles to be impactful in a social media world. Debra suggests that profiles should be personalized, friendly and casual (not careless). She said you should avoid jargon and resume-like content – don’t tell people what you do, tell them what you love about what you do! This will help your customers feel comfortable doing business with you.
